Can I still register after the season starts?
When registering after the season has begun, registration fees are automatically prorated by our system to subtract past sessions. This means you will only be charged for upcoming classes.
Do I need to get in the water with my child?
Parents are required to be in the water with their child if they are registered for a parent & tot class. For all other classes, only the participant is allowed in the water with their instructor.
What happens if we need to miss a lesson?
Please reach out to our admin team to inform us if you will be missing a class. We will provide a max of 1 credit per season if informed within 24 hours before the program. Any additional missed lessons cancelled by the family within 24 hours before the program, must be accompanied with a doctors note in order to receive a credit.
Preschool Lessons - Ages 3 to 5

Patrol Lessons - Ages 7+
Overview
The Patrol Program offers an engaging and challenging step for swimmers ready to advance beyond recreational lessons.
This program develops lifesaving skills, endurance, and water safety knowledge while fostering leadership, teamwork, and responsibility. Participants practice rescue drills, first aid techniques, and physical conditioning to prepare for real-life scenarios. Ideal for aspiring lifeguards or those seeking to improve their aquatic fitness, the Patrol Program bridges the gap between swimming lessons and professional certifications.
Graduates of this program leave with the confidence and skills to take on leadership roles in and around the water.
Rookie Patrol
Rookie Patrol is the first level of 3 that focuses on long distance proficiency and endurance, as well as introduces first aid. In Rookie Patrol, swimmers learn to swim 100 meters in 3 minutes. They work on swimming 25 to 50 meters with specific techniques such as lifesaving kick, front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke. Swimmers also practice carrying objects as they swim. The first aid aspect of the Rookie Patrol level focuses on assessing conscious victims, contacting EMS, and caring for external bleeding. Swimmers are also introduced to recognition and rescue where they complete water rescue drills and practice throwing buoyant aids to a target.
Ranger Patrol
Ranger Patrol is the second level of 3 that focuses on long distance proficiency and endurance, as well as continues to teach first aid. In Ranger Patrol, swimmers learn to swim 200 meters in 6 minutes. They work on swimming 25 meters with specific techniques such as, stride entry and swim head-up, and Eggbeater kick on back. They also work on swimming 75 meters with specific techniques such as, front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke. Swimmers also continue to practice carrying items as they swim. The first aid aspect of the Ranger Patrol level focuses on assessing unconscious breathing victims, caring for victims in shock, and dealing with an obstructed airway on a conscious victim. Swimmers continue to learn about recognition and rescue as well, where they complete a higher difficulty level of water rescue drills and practice throwing buoyant aids to a target 25 meters away.
Star Patrol
Star Patrol is the third level of 3 that focuses on long distance proficiency and endurance, as well as continues to teach first aid. In Star Patrol, swimmers learn to swim 300 meters in 9 minutes. They work on swimming 100 meters with specific techniques such as, front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke. Star Patrol requires swimmers to carry an object 25 meters while swimming, as well as search to recover objects. Swimmers also learn to turn and support a victim face up in shallow water, and remove unconscious victims. The first aid aspect of the Star Patrol level focuses on caring for bone or joint injuries, and caring for respiratory emergencies (asthma or allergic reactions). Swimmers also perfect their recognition and rescue, where they are required to locate and describe submerged objects, and rescue a target with a towing aid for 20 meters.

Certifications - Ages 11+
Overview
Our Certification Courses provide the essential skills and credentials required to lead in aquatic safety and emergency response.
With options ranging from Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, and Bronze Cross to National Lifeguard (NL) certification and Standard First Aid (SFA), these courses are tailored for individuals aspiring to become lifeguards or enhance their safety expertise. Each course combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice to ensure participants are fully prepared to handle emergencies.
With certified instructors and a structured curriculum, our certifications set the standard for excellence, preparing participants to save lives and make a difference.
Bronze Courses
Bronze Star develops swimming proficiency, lifesaving skill and personal fitness. Candidates refine their stroke mechanics, acquire self-rescue skills, and apply fitness principles in training workouts.
Please Note: Participant must be under the age of 13 to apply for Bronze Star.
Bronze Medallion challenges the candidate both mentally and physically. Judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness – the four components of water rescue – form the basis of Bronze Medallion training. Candidates acquire the assessment and problem-solving skills needed to make good decisions in, on, and around the water.
Please Note: Minimum 13 years of age or completed Bronze Star.
Bronze Cross begins the transition from lifesaving to lifeguarding and prepares candidates for responsibilities as assistant lifeguards. Candidates strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills and begin to apply the principles and techniques of active surveillance in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies.
Please Note: Minimum 13 years of age and completed Bronze Medallion.
National Lifeguard Certifications
National Lifeguard certification is Canada’s professional lifeguard standard. National Lifeguard training develops a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment, and a mature and responsible attitude towards the lifeguard’s role. National Lifeguard training emphasizes prevention and effective rescue response in emergencies including first aid treatment. Candidates develop teamwork, leadership and communication skills. Fitness requirements include a timed object recovery, 50 m sprint challenge, 50 m rescue drill and 400 m endurance challenge.
The National Lifeguard training program is designed for lifesavers who wish to obtain a responsible job and leadership experience. Successful candidates are certified by the Lifesaving Society – Canada’s lifeguarding experts.
Standard First Aid Certifications
Standard First Aid provides comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid and CPR. Standard First Aid incorporates all of Emergency First Aid and is designed for those who require a more in-depth understanding of first aid including: legal implications of first aid treatment, spinal injuries, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, chest injuries, and medical emergencies. Includes CPR-C certification.
The first aid program is not restricted to aquatic candidates. You can use the Lifesaving Society’s first aid awards to train non-aquatic staff (camp, playground, maintenance, etc.) and the general public.
Lifesaving Society Standard First Aid certification is valid for 36 months from the certification date.

What are the prerequisites for the Bronze Courses?
Bronze Star: None (Swim Patrol experience recommended.) Must be under the age of 13.
Bronze Medallion: Minimum 13 years of age or completed Bronze Star
Bronze Cross: Minimum 13 years of age and has completed Bronze Medallion OR under the age of 13 but has completed Bronze Star, and Bronze Medallion. Emergency and First Aid Certificate.
What happens if I miss a course date?
Our courses are structured to allow participants to complete them efficiently. This means that participants cannot miss a course day, as this would mean they did not meet the required course hours. Please contact our head office to reschedule your course if needed.
What are the prerequisites for NL?
Participants must have a minimum 15 years of age, Bronze Cross, and Standard First Aid-C. We also offer an NL combo course for those who do not have their Standard First Aid-C or need to renew it.
Do I need to purchase equipment?
You will be prompted to purchase/rent the required equipment at check out when you are doing your registration.
Pre-Competitive
Overview
The Pre-Competitive Swim Program is the perfect bridge between swimming lessons and competitive swimming.
Designed for swimmers who are ready to refine their strokes and increase their endurance, this program emphasizes advanced technique, turns, starts, and building the discipline required for competitive training. Swimmers practice in a positive and supportive environment, focusing on personal growth and teamwork. This program also introduces participants to the dynamics of swim meets, preparing them for a seamless transition to competitive swimming.
Whether your swimmer aspires to join a team or enhance their skills, the Pre-Competitive Program sets them on the path to success.
Pre-Competitive Training Plan
Our focus for the pre-competitive group is to build a strong foundation of strength, flexibility, and speed. The program includes:
1. Dryland Swim Exercises: Tailored to enhance overall strength, core stability, and flexibility. These exercises are designed to improve stroke efficiency and reduce the risk of injury.
2. Sprint Training: Emphasis on developing explosive power and speed in the water. Short, high-intensity swim sets will help swimmers adapt to race-pace conditions.
3. Stroke Development: Regular technique drills aimed at refining strokes for maximum efficiency. Focused on building both power and endurance to prepare swimmers for competitive demands.
This comprehensive approach ensures our swimmers are not only fast but also resilient, well-rounded athletes ready for their next level of competition.
